Shapes form the visual foundation of how children perceive and interpret the world around them. In our Summer Art Program at Rookids BGC, young artists explored the dynamic relationship between geometry, color, and visual storytelling through hands-on paper cut-out collages inspired by modern master Henri Matisse.
As a premier art school in BGC, Rookids introduces young learners to art history through tactile experimentation and live observation. The children began by identifying organic and geometric shapes in their surroundings, cutting vibrant sheets of paper into their own unique forms, and studying Matisse’s expressive collage methodology. By arranging, layering, and balancing diverse colors and contours, each student built an original composition reflecting their imaginative perspective.
Our holistic approach to kids art in BGC turns simple geometric discovery into rich, expressive visual literacy. Through this engaging art class BGC workshop, children developed scissor control, compositional balance, and the creative confidence to transform abstract cut-outs into meaningful modern artworks.
