How many imaginative worlds can begin from a single, simple dot? In our Summer Art Program at Rookids BGC, young artists explored the fundamentals of pointillism and associative drawing, discovering how basic circular marks can transform into vibrant visual stories.
As a premier art school in BGC, Rookids inspires children to look at ordinary elements in extraordinary ways. Using tactile tools like soft pom-poms and fine Q-tips, students stamped colorful dots onto their workbooks. From there, their imaginations took over—transforming yellow circles into shining suns, pink stamps into blooming flowers, and blue textures into rainclouds. The children also applied pointillist techniques to compose textured, multi-tonal apple artworks.
Our approach to kids art in BGC turns foundational mark-making into a gateway for creative confidence. Through this playful art class BGC session, young creators developed fine motor coordination, color blending sensitivity, and the realization that their creative choices are boundless.
