Culinary heritage offers a rich, tactile canvas for multi-sensory artistic expression. In our Noljak Basic Creative class at Rookids BGC, young artists explored the cultural, structural, and visual qualities of kimchi by crafting their own handmade miniature jars and handcrafted ingredients.
As a leading art school in BGC, Rookids encourages children to look closely at everyday objects and food culture. Guided by hands-on observation, the children used paint, cardboard, and mixed media to recreate the various vegetables and ingredients that compose this iconic dish. By observing color variations, sorting component shapes, and assembling three-dimensional layers, students developed spatial awareness and pattern recognition. This process transforms a familiar culinary staple into an engaging lesson in structural design and material exploration.
